About Belabela Quarries

Building Botswana’s infrastructure with premium materials since 2003

Our Story

Belabela Quarries was founded in 2003 by Neils Schultz, Constance Molefi, and Blackie Marole on Tribal Grant T-137 in the Bakgatla District, just 15 kilometres north of Gaborone along the A1. What started as a modest operation has grown into Botswana’s largest aggregate quarry by volume, with monthly production scaling from 13,000 tonnes to over 70,000 tonnes following major investment in state-of-the-art crushing and processing equipment.

In 2015, B&E International (Pty) Ltd — a subsidiary of Raubex PLC, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange — acquired a 74% stake in the business, bringing with it the expertise of managing sixteen quarries across Southern Africa. The remaining shares are held by Manamata Investments (13%) and Lighthouse Investments (13%).

Today, Belabela Quarries produces 4,000 tonnes of aggregate per day, supplying road construction companies, ready-mix concrete suppliers, brick manufacturers, civil contractors, and individual builders across Greater Gaborone and the Kgatleng District. We are the nation’s foundation — literally.
